We played outside pretty much all day today, took lots of walks and played in the yard.
Now that he is asleep (i hope for good tonight) I'm trying to talk to Mike but all I have is email that is sllllloooooooowwwwwwwwww and it's really frustrating...
Ok, I'm giving up and going to lie on the couch and eat ice cream..that should help...

In a nutshell
Wshew!! what a couple of days!!
JJ and I have been busy adjusting to our new schedule and new lives--he has gotten used to the time change and has pretty much accepted that this is it for us for a while.
We've been busy going for walks everyday and checking out all of the animals--it's awesome that he can run out of the garage and I don't have to worry about him, there are about 4 acres of grass around the house so he can run and run and run and I just let him go :)
There are a few robins that let him chase them around the yard so he loves to do that. And there are lots of butterflies that he chases around. He has made friends w/ the chickens down the road and the neighbors' horses. Every house on our road seems to have an old sleeping dog under a tree that comes out to say hello to him too--JJ is in heaven!
He is also fascinated with the tractor in the back field, he runs right for it whenever we go outside.
Last night, I think he finally realized that Mike isn't here--he got real quiet and sad and just layed in his bed not moving but w/ his eyes wide open. Poor kid. Hopefully Mike and Barry will have a fun trip but I hope they hurry too.
Tonight we went to my grandmothers cottage on Lake Ontario--JJ ran and got into everything possible from the moment we got there. I took down food and made beef stew for us and I think my grandmother enjoyed it :) After dinner, we went for a walk and you wouldn't have believe it--JJ jumped in the lake! I swear that kid has no fear... We were walking on the beach and he kept trying to get the water and finally he just jumped in! The water had to be high 60s low 70s but it was so hot and muggy that I'm sure it felt good :)
So he was KO'd by the time we got in the car...now I'm off to sit and relax w/ a bowl of ice cream... this single motherhood is exhausting!!
BTW, Leah if you are reading this--haha, I WISH you were our vp interpreter today--Mike and I had quite a conversation and the poor woman was trying to capture my anger and his anger then my crying and blah blah...looking back it was just plain funny. It got to the point that I forgot I was talking to an interpreter and I was yelling at her as if she was Mike! Poor thing, I'm sure she thought, "My god, what a bitch!" Haha, ahhh a career I could never do!!
Good night all, stay cool!! Mike said it's steaming in Cali...hope you all are surviving!!
**I don't have the cord to download photos from our digital computer but as soon as it arrives, I will post pics asap :)

I'm tired...
Heh, today the time change caught up w/ me! And going from a single floor ranch to a 3 story house is kicking my butt today too--my legs are sore!! That's so sad...
Woke JJ up at around 9:30 this am trying to help him get used to the time. Mike had a meeting at RSD this am and he said it went well. He will have a formal interview when he gets back here in about 2 weeks. I'M A SINGLE MOM FOR 2 WEEKS. OY.
Woke JJ up again during his nap to drive MR to the airport, Barry met him there and I'm sure they are having a blast. Hope they don't have too much fun so that they don't have the energy to pack tmw!
JJ and I went to Steph's house for about an hr so JJ could play w/ the kids then went to my mom's for dinner. Amber and Katie took care of JJ so that was a relief, mom went and bought a booster seat after watching JJ try to eat dinner standing on the chair :)
After that, we went over to Kevin and Lisa's house--so can't believe she is pregnant! It is definetly a boy--it looks like she has a basketball stuffed up her shirt :) Kevin played w/ JJ and JJ even started to fall asleep on his shoulder when we were leaving...awwwww...
JJ was asleep before we even got on the highway, poor little bugger is tuckered! So, now I need to pack his bags for tmw--we're going to Steph's tmw am to babysit for Jack and Sam for the day.
Oh! I forgot this morning I had a laugh--I woke up to the sounds of water and I thought it was odd that dad was using sprinklers on his lawn cuz it's so big--yea, it was rain. Ha, I forgot it rains here year round!

Day One of the new chapter
Blog is up and running again!!
Soooooooo sorry it was neglected for so long but now that we are settled in NY, I think I will have more time to focus to my writing.
JJ did GREAT on the flight yesterday, we took his car seat (thank God) and he did so well! He slept on and off on the first flight and watched a couple of movies on the portable dvd player and on the second flight he was content for a long time just staring out the window and then watched a movie.
We went thru Minneapolis/St Paul for the first itme, it's a nice airport. We got in early, not a lot of people for a Saturday and we left early. It was great!
We got in last night around 10pm and the first thing we noticed was the humidity!!! oy!! forgot what that sticky, thick feeling was! JJ started to have sweaty ringlets for hair pretty much as soon as we arrived :)
Dad picked us up and after a few attempts, we got all of the bags, stroller, car seat etc etc in the car.
Next thing we noticed--the bugs!! Remember the beginning of Men In Black where you follow that bug until is smashes into the windshield?? That's what it's like here--but the smacking on the windshield happens every 5 seconds! It was crazy.
JJ didn't sleep until around 1:30am, with the time change, new house, new bed etc etc. I fell asleep about the same time, thank goodness dad put an AC in our room. I put Jayson in with us last night--he has his own room but until he gets used to his new surroundings, I want him to stay with me.
Woke up around 6am--why??? IT WAS TOO QUIET!!!! We are in the middle of nowhere on farm land and there is not a noise, not a street light, not a car--nothing!! We are used to being home with buses going by, cars w/ bass, etc etc and there is nothing here! I managed to fall back asleep for a while until Mike woke up at 9ish. We woke Jayson up and had a nice fathers day breakfast :)
My mom and the three girls came over around 11 and we all went swimming and hung out and had lunch. The girls are getting older now (Courtney will be a junior in the fall, Katie will be a freshman, Amber will be in 8th grade) so I let them take care of JJ a lot--what a blessing! Courtney will teach swim lessons this summer so i'm going to have her do some lessons with JJ--that's what aunts are for right??
Grackin came over too on her way home from church, it was nice to sit out by the pool w/ mom and Grackin and gossip and talk about people we knew. I'm getting the hang of this slow farm life after all!!
Oh, oh oh!! Next thing we noticed??? NO PAGER SERVICE!! Wha wha what??? I know, blackberry withdrawl... I have to go into "the city" if I want to have service, haha. That's what made me think to start the blog up again--at least it's an outlet to keep in touch w/ my peeps!! haha.
I rode home w/ my mom and co. so that Mike and I could borrow my step fathers car--91 chevy lumina baby, haha ridin' in style! Another observation--all the cars that you pass on the road have "God Bless America" and flag decals and such on the windows (so does said lumina). Haha, and for the first time in years I used the cruise control!! Been a while since I've been on a highway where I'm pretty much the only car :) heh. And last night?? HIGH BEAMS. Get out of town!! I don't even know if my high beams on our cars at home even work!
By the time I got home, Dad, Cheryl, Steph, Luke and the boys were all here getting dinner ready w/ Mike and JJ. We grilled out and swam in the pool some more (Lord, give me a tan...)
JJ ate a bunch of new foods--he nawwed on an ear of corn for a long time and tried cole slaw and baked beans:)
I'm excited b/c dad tilled about an acre in the back field to plant a garden. AN ACRE. at least. So, right now we are trying to figure out what to plant and will do that this week :) Can't wait to grow my own food!! I'm sorry, but can you all picture me out here?? Sweatin' my ass off, working in a field??? hahahah...
JJ had a milestone tonight--first bath w/out a bath seat in the tub!! He loved it!! OFC I got it on video and camera, I need to figure out how to download stuff then will upload pictures for you guys to see :) Also Vanessa gave me the website to post video so you guys can see JJ grow (and me out in my farm...)
Well, it's 10:15 local time and JJ is sleeping..thus begins many similar nights for the rest of the summer :) Maybe I'll jump in the pool? Maybe I will help Mike get ready for his meeting tomorrow? Keep your fingers crossed--he has a meeting at RSD in the am--what a blessing if he got a job... I'm sad tho b/c Mike will fly back to cali tmw w/ Barry to pack up the house, clean, then drive cross country w/ the two cats... So JJ and I will be alone together for about 2 weeks. Fun bonding time for us but i know it will be tough for JJ and Mike to not see each other for so long.
Ok, enough for tonight--I'll keep you posted on what new adventures we face tmw!! Super Walmart just opened in town so man, tomorrow cld be nutty...

PAH weekend...
ahhhhhhhhhh...man it feels good to have a day off!
I still have to get up early w/ JJ but it's nice to not have to rush around, have bags packed, be on the run--just nice to sit here and relax.
Mike has a game today and I feel guilty b/c we're not going--he likes to have JJ there after the game. But it's so hard to take Jayson out for the day by myself--feed him lunch in football bleachers? yea, that's fun. And the lack of a nap is even worse... I just like to keep him on schedule so that we will have a calm evening and night.
I really have no plans for the weekend--kind of nice but kind of sucks--we moved to this area b/c there is soooooo much to do but do we ever do anything? not really... it will be better when football is over and Mike is around more. That way when we want to go out and do things, it isn't just me trying to take care of JJ.
We are staying in Cali for T'giving and xmas--too expensive for the 3 of us to fly so hopefully we will be able to "see some of the sights" during that time. My mom is flying out for t'giving which at first I didn't want b/c I wanted us to be able to travel around for the week but now I realize that it's good b/c JJ can spend time w/ her and we can show her around out here for the last time before we move back east.
Xmas tho, I wld like to rent a cabin at Tahoe, see see if we can afford it and how the weather is! I'm just looking forward to the two weeks off :)
Well, JJ is still down for his nap so I'm going to get a few things done around here (the house is a DISASTER), really need to get cleaning!!
But sitting on my butt seems like sooooo much more fun!!!

Busy Busy...
School is so nutty...after reading Kate's blog, it made me feel better that i'm so behind and not alone!
One of the ways my life has changed since having the baby is that I have to be more organized and time focused--really hard for me as a natural procrastinator. And it's hard b/c my choices are stay at work after school and get work done but leave JJ at daycare even longer OR go pick up JJ right after school but where is my planning and school time?
I need to have a day or two where I can just work in the classroom w/ no kids-- I need to organize, to grade papers, to get myself ahead of the game. Easier said than done. oy.
I have to say tho that I REALLY like what I'm teaching this year and my students. I finally dont feel like the new teacher who doesn't know anything--I feel comfortable enough at meetings to voice my opinions and be the voice of experience. Too bad this is my last year and I have to start all over as the newbie someplace else! But that's a stressed out blog in itself that I will put off freaking out about :)
Well JJ is sleeping so I should do some of the planning i never have time for but the house has been neglected too...Now that the baby is getting bigger, the messes are much bigger! Can't really ignore the puddles of sweet potatoes on the kitchen floor...
Off to get ready for tmw, since I now have to be so organized w/ my life, I have to pack JJ's day care bag, iron my clothes, pack my b'fast and lunch...ahhhhh....thank goodness it's friday so only one more day of being so strictly organized!! I miss those days when I only worried about myself....but of course wouldn't trade any of the goofy toothless smiles for the world!!
g'night :)

Up and Running!
Ok, so spending countless hours reading Kate's blog has convinced me to start my own... If anything I think it will be a good outlet for me to vent (and brag!) about the day to day activities around here...
And I think this will help my brain not turn to mush as fast as when I sit here and watch Noggin w/ Jayson. I know those of you w/ certain opinions say tv is bad for kids but obviously you never needed to shower, or pee, or hell just take a break.
Anyhow, that is a tangent for another day...
So, I'll keep this one short as I figure out just how this bloggin' nonsense works and Jayson is in the tail end of his afternoon nap and will be up soon. I loooooooove long weekends w/ nothing to do--when JJ wakes up we are going to hang in the back yard and watch Mike wash the car..sounds fun eh? Does to me! Simple moments of parenting have proven to be the most precious.
Hope you all enjoy reading my tales of a life less ordinary. More soon!!
